ALL GOLDS PREVIEW
BEARS SET FOR GOOD FRIDAY FLOODLIT CLASH
This good Friday the Bears travel away to the University of Gloucester All Gold's.
Bears Head Coach Tom Tsang commented on the forthcoming fixture;
After the Rochdale game I felt that, for probably the first time since we made the step up to this level, that we had gone backwards a bit in our application. We had just come back from France and played a very strong Toulouse side, and I think we were still feeling the effects of that loss – both mentally and physically, and the result was a bad day at the office.
We have since had a two very good weeks of training and a weekend off from playing because of the bye week, so we should have no excuses for a much improved showing against Gloucester on Friday.
We have shown glimpses of our potential in all our games this year, but we really haven’t given ourselves a fighting chance with some of the cheap penalties we have been giving away.
Our discipline and defence are two areas we have targeted heavily in the build up to this game so we will be looking for vast improvement in this area.
Tommy Holland and Elliot Liku have returned to North Wales after their loan agreements finished, which will give some of our guys an opportunity – there are 27 contracted players all chomping at the bit to get a run, so I’m sure whoever we bring in will put in a strong performance.
