Strategy

The Bears' Community Section is a Community Interest Company operated under the name 'Bears in the Community CIC'. This not for profit organisation has the aim of promoting Rugby League opportunities to citizens of Coventry and beyond, of any age and ability or experience, to raise the profile of Rugby League in the non-traditional area of the sport.

Our community strategy is based upon 4 pillars of development.

  • INCREASE PARTICIPATION

  • INCREASE ENGAGEMENT

  • IMPROVE STANDARDS

  • CREATE A LEGACY

Participation

We are aiming to increase participation in not only rugby league but all sports and believe that through this peoples lives can be enriched and children can develop better skills and well being for their future. Through people participating in one of our community programmes we want make a positive impact to the community of Coventry and Warwickshire.

Adults can get involved in the exciting social game of Try Tag Rugby. Please click here for more information.

Engagement

Through further engagement we want to give people the opportunity to watch more sport and indeed rugby league with Coventry Bears. We want to give people the opportunity to be part of a club and community that can not only help create a professional pathway but allow people to enjoy the sport at all levels as a spectator or volunteer.

Standards

Improving our club and our standards is core to becoming better at what we do and what we can offer. We want to constantly challenge ourselves to improve and more forward in the future.

Create a legacy

We want to create a legacy and create history so we can look back and see that we have made a difference and been successful. We also want to provide a pathway from a child playing touch rugby in primary school in Coventry right through to playing for Coventry Bears teams and beyond, perhaps Super League or NRL!

Our motto is simple, it is "in this together" as we believe that if everyone is moving forward together then success will follow and take care of itself!

Please use the hashtag #inthistogether while supporting, playing or engaging with us.
