Bears and Bulls Confirm Historic Link
Coventry Bears today confirmed a partnership with the Bradford Bulls for the 2015 season which will not only see the clubs form a dual registration link but will also see a business link formed between the organisations.
The Bears will be working closely with the Bulls on and off the field to further develop the business.
Bulls managing director Steve Ferres said: “We are delighted to be partnering with the Bears for the coming season.
“These are exciting times for both clubs and we want to help Coventry adapt to life outside of the community game.
“The club has been working extremely hard during the past two seasons, both commercially and in terms of recruitment, and we will aid that in any way we can.
“They will have access to some of our players, which will prove mutually beneficial, and we look forward to seeing how the partnership develops.”
Speaking about the partnership Coventry Bears Managing Director Alan Robinson said;
"It has been fantastic for us to strike up a relationship with Bradford Bulls, a club I have admired for many years. I have begun to develop a great relationship with both Steve Ferres Bradford Bulls Managing Director and Chairman Marc Green off the field while Tom Tsang has been working with James Lowes on it.”
“There is already great synergy between our clubs, this is not only a dual registration partnership but a business one also. We hope to take every opportunity to grow and build our club alongside the Bulls. This is a new era for Rugby League and I feel this sort of opportunity is a milestone in our clubs development in the sport"
Bears Head Coach Tom Tsang also remarked on the partnership saying;
“I am very happy that we have confirmed this partnership with the Bulls. I feel that we have recruited a strong, enthusiastic and balanced squad but this link will allow us to add some valuable experience in key areas. We have had several meetings with the Bulls now to make sure both clubs are happy with the way the partnership will work.”
“I am sure if and when any players join us at the Bears they will add to the positive environment we are building and provide a level and motivation for our younger players to aspire to. The link will also be a benefit personally and for my coaching staff as I will be looking to work closely with James Lowes and learn from his vast experience and bring that back to what we are doing in Coventry.”
