Bears announce new appointment
Bears appoint new management
Coventry Bears have appointed Rugby League Ireland Director Conor Kelly to their management staffing structure for the new season. Kelly who is still involved in RLI has extensive experience in both rugby league development and media management and will bring a wealth of experience to the Bears in this new era of rugby league in 2015. Conor will hold a general management role but will also play a key role in community development.
Coventry Bears Managing Director Alan Robinson commented:
"I have known and worked with Conor for a numbers of years being involved with RLI as a former player and coach and was delighted when he accepted to get involved with us. Conor will be heavily involved in the development of a new community interest company we have set up and will play a key role in taking the club forward."
Conor commented on his appointment:
“I am really excited to be joining the club in what is going to be a ground breaking year as we enter the professional ranks. The club has put in a lot of work over the last number of years and this is now reaping its rewards.”
“Having visited the club in November it was clear to me that it had solid plans for growth and that was something I wanted to be involved with.”
“I am also hoping that my involvement with the club along with my links to rugby league in Ireland can open another potential pathway for Irish to ply their trade in the UK.”
