Bears play Stags in first professional game of 2015

Bears take on old rivals in preseason

The Bears Squad will take on old rivals Hemel Stags in our first preseason warm-up game on Saturday February 14th at the Butts Park Arena, Coventry Rugby at 2.30pm.

Hemel have been competing at League One level for the past two years with great success and this match should be a great test for the new Bears squad.

Many supporters will know that there is always a healthy rivalry between the two clubs and been some great battles down the years. Stags Head Coach Troy Perkins is also a former Bears player who alongside Alan Robinson lead the Bears to their greatest victory in the 2004 National League 3 final.

Robinson commented; "We have been following Hemel with a close eye this past few seasons as we made our own preparations towards entering League One. Troy and I are close friends but we are both very competitive and this game will be no ordinary preseason friendly! The Stags will be out to put us in our place and I know our guys are very excited at the prospect of playing a side that has claimed some big victories in last years competition."

This game should be a great opportunity for fans to see the standard of things to come this spring and we are hoping for a good crowd to back the Bears at Coventry Rugby club in between Coventry Rugby games in February.

Gate entry to the match is £10 Adults £8 Concessions with kids coming only £2.
