MORE NEW SIGNINGS FOR 2021
We are pleased to announce a draft of new signings the club has made for next season. There are some exciting prospects and all players fit the culture and profile of our club that further enhances our overall squad and gives it more depth than ever.
Head Coach Rich Squires commented on the new players we have added to our roster.
Dan Coates - half back
Dan joins us from Newcastle Thunder and comes in high regard. Game time week in week out is something we can offers him and he will flourish given the opportunity. He’s proven what he can go at League 1 before and can be our general around the field of play this year.
Dan Bedford - hooker / loose forward
Dan is another player returning to the game after time away. During this time away hes competed in the world and commonwealth championships for powerlifting and comes to us stronger than ever. His numbers in the gym are freakish and he had the ability on field to lift us when needed. I’m looking forward to seeing him back on the pitch and seeing what he can do.
Andy joy - prop
Andy joins us after a spell out of the professional game and playing within the NCL. He has got bags of experience and has great intent with his carry, work ethic and his willingness to put the team first. There will be some stiff competition for a spot up front this year but I’m sure Andy will be the first to put his hand up.
Delaine Bedward - prop
Delaine is still young for a prop forward but is eager to learn. He is big and aggressive and his first direction is forward. The fans will be able to look forward to his carries off the back line this season and he will certainly raise a few eyebrows. He’s currently studying at Coventry University which gives us a little bit more time to develop him into the player we want.
Elliot Townsend - back row / prop
Having played with Doncaster and Hull Fc reserves last year Elliot will provide us with no nonsense performances. He does the bits people shy away from and will have a big influence on the group off the field which is also important for us this year.
Jack Dawson - Centre
Jack has been playing for Midlands rugby league partner club Derby City Elks and has been turning some heads. Formally of Bradford Bulls when he was younger Jack has a unique ability with a rugby ball and makes it look easy. He’s another type of player that will look to be on the aggressive in attack and defence and will provide a different option for us in the centres.
