Keighley Cougars Preview

Coventry Bears v Keighley Cougars

Sunday 8th May

Ricoh Arena, Coventry 3pm

This Sunday the Coventry Bears will take on the Keighley Cougars at the Ricoh Arena, Coventry. It will be the first time a rugby league game has been played at the venue in a ground-breaking move for the city.

It is hoped that the match will be a chance to showcase the sport in the Midlands and Bears coach Tom Tsang can't wait for his players to run out through the tunnel on Sunday afternoon (kick-off 3pm).

He said: "It's a very exciting week for all concerned at the club - to be playing a home game at the Ricoh Arena is a huge honour. This is the reward for a lot of hard work behind the scenes.

"On the field we have struggled for consistency, partly due to the way the fixtures have played out. We have played 2 games in 5 weeks, so haven't had the opportunity to build any momentum.

"Keighley are in good form and will be looking to keep that going. We were leading the game at half time last time we played, so we know we can compete when we do the basics right.

"It will just be a case of focusing on the small things and looking to maintain that for the 80 minutes. If we do that, then a special day could really be one to remember."

Bears 20-man squad: Alex Beddows, Ben Warrilow, Charlie Omara, Chris Barratt, Craig White, Eddie Medforth, Grant Beecham, Jack Morrison, James Geurtjens, James Redman, Jason Bass, Jay Lobwein, Joel James, Jono Miliszewski, Liam Thompson, Matt Reid, Richie Hughes, Trae O'Sullivan, Joe Batchelor.
