North Wales Crusader Matt Reid joins the Bears on Loan

The Bears recruitment drive ahead of the season start continues with a one month loan signing of North Wales Crusaders back-row Matt Reid.

Reid is a big, physical second-row who can also cover Centre. The Warrington based forward has found himself on the fringes of the Crusaders squad and has sought out first team action in Coventry where he knows a number of the Bears squad members.

"We have recently picked up a number of injuries to our back row players. None of the injuries are long term but we were concerned that we were looking a little depleted in that position." Said Bears Head Coach Tom Tsang.

"Matt became available and because he covers the positions we require and he is known to a number of our current players it was a good fit. He is a big unit which is another quality we need and has a decent turn of speed. He will be available for selection in our first game on Friday and could be a good option, should we decide he has settled in ok at training."
