As the 2018 season draws to a close, the Bears have just three games remaining, with two of those being at home, against the 'Cru' this Sunday and a finalSaturday fixture against Hunslet on Saturday 22nd September.
Between these fixtures is another trip to Cumbria to face Whitehaven.
Focusing on this Sunday's game, this is an intriguing fixture, and one the Bears have a chance of winning.
The Welsh outfit sit immediately above the Bears in the League 1 table on 17 points, with the Bears on 12, and Skolars on 11.
Whilst it is mathematically possible that the Bears overtake the Crusaders in the next three games, a more realistic aspiration would be to increase the gap over our London rivals.
Last week the Crusaders beat their South Wales counterparts 66-0, while the Bears had a tough trip to Oldham where they lost 58-6.
As for the history between the Bears and the Crusaders, last season saw the Welsh side victorious 13-36 at Butts Park, while the Bears won in Wrexham 16-22 last September!
This seasons away fixture saw North Wales comfortable victors 42-6, so maybe the Beard can leverage home advantage on this occasion and turn this around. There is certainly a precedent for that after the way the Bears completely turned things around against Keighley.
This is certainly a winnable fixture and should prove a good game for the spectators on Sunday.
