Bears Tom Tsang said;
"Its good to finally start preseason after 10 weeks of planning through the off season. I feel like we have assembled a really strong League 1 squad for 2017 with a good blend of returning and new players, experience and youth. The lads will be going through the toughest preseason since we joined the league which will culminate in two friendly matches against Barrow and Hemel in late January and early February.
Barrow were one of the strongest sides in the competition last year and were close to gaining promotion. I wanted a really tough test as early as possible to give us a good indication of our own strengths and weaknesses. We follow that with a home match against Hemel who have undergone some much publicised changes this year and so they will be very unpredictable and present a different but no less challening proposition for us.
We will then have a week off to fine tune before the competitive games start in earnest.
I cant wait for those matches to come around, but in the meantime, both playing and coaching staff have a lot of hard work to get through over the winter months."
