Rugby For All The Family

Playing Bradford Bulls at the Butts Park Arena on the 30th June is going to be one of the biggest events in the clubs 20-year history for Coventry Bears. Playing in the Betfred League one, for just the fourth season as an RFL professional club, Coventry Bears have already faced Leeds Rhino’s at home in January as a pre-season friendly and Widnes Vikings away in the 5th Round of the Challenge Cup. Now set to host former World and Super League Champions Bradford Bulls is highly likely to attract a record crowd for the Bears at the Butts Park Arena.

To celebrate this, the Bears are preparing for a day full of Rugby Activity for all the family, in line with the City of Rugby initiative - to form a coherent framework for the development of the game at all levels, from grassroots to elite across all age groups.

Adults can play in a ‘Try Tag Rugby’ taster session followed by a mini festival with teams made up on the day (mixture of beginners and regular TTR players). Anyone wishing to join in should register attendance online at www.trytagrugby.com

On the 30th June, participants should register and warm up at the ground from 9am with a rule briefing at 9:45 and games commencing from 10am.

Following the TTR festival, participants will be able to remain inside the Butts Park Arena to enjoy outdoor festival style food and drinks commencing at 12pm and of course stay to watch the big game kick off at 3pm. The fun continues later with post match live music and mingling with Coventry Bears players and staff.

Coventry Bears Juniors, boys and girls from the age groups U7’s, U8’s and U9’s will also be playing on the main pitch prior to the big game. Their families can access the Butts Park Arena on the day, from 12pm to enjoy watching them play and forming a guard of honour as Coventry Bears and Bradford Bulls Players run onto the pitch. Tickets for families of registered players (registered on LeagueNet) can purchase a family ticket for £12 which includes entrance for 2 adults and 2 children. This ticket can be purchased via Eventbrite.
