The Club is pleased to extend the stay of Zak Williams who joined us mid way through the season from South Wales and played very well for us in the second part of the season.

Tom Tsang commented on Zak:

"Zaks signing is a significant one for us. He joined the Bears late in the season in 2017 but made an immediate impression on everyone at the club. His defensive game is superb and he was a noticable absence in games he didnt play. He has a fantastic work ethic and attitude towards training and wanting to develop himself.

Zak has the ability to play a number of positions including hooker, looseforward and backrow but we will be working with Zak in pre season to define his role in the squad."

Zak commented:

"I am delighted to have agreed terms with Coventry Bears for the 2018 season. I feel this is the right club for me to push on and get my first senior Welsh cap, I was in the 38 man train on squad and just missed out on the cut to go to World Cup, but I'm close to achieving my ambitions.
I really enjoyed my time with Coventry bears during the shield play offs and even though we lost games we should have won, there was a good vibe around the squad and club and being part of a squad that beat the crusaders was a highlight for me.
I've been made so welcome by players and fans such a great club, which is down to the hard work of Alan Robinson and his staff.
Looking forward to pre-season and getting stuck in"
