Bears Add Malta International Redman
Following a host of re-signings over the past couple of weeks the club are delighted to announce a new signing in the form of Maltese international James Redman.
Redman joins from Central ASA Tigers and was formerly a part of the North Queensland Cowboys Under 20 squad.
He covers both hooker and halfback and will bring a lot of tempo to the Bears in his playing style.
Speaking on the signing Tom Tsang said: "James is a new signing from Mackay in North Queensland, Australia. He is an up-tempo player who covers both halfback and hooker having played both positions for North Queensland Cowboys u20s. James is also a Maltese international and has been an integral part of their recent international progress. I'm exciting to welcome James to Coventry for pre-season and am sure he will be a fantastic addition to our 2016 squad."
Redman also commented on his move to the Bears “I am very happy to be signing with the Coventry Bears Rugby League Club. It is definetely going to be a huge change-up, but I am really looking forward to having a big season with a good team and staff. Coventry have been great with organising everything for me and my partner and I can’t wait to get the the UK and rip in to the competition.”
Redman is the first new signing the Bears have made for 2016, however, he will be joined by more new signings shortly as the club continue to build their squad for 2016.
