Bears look for momentum

As we now enter the second half of the season and today's deadline for new signings and final paperwork for 2017 there has been some developments at the club.

Tom Tsang explains:

There has been a lot of activity this week across the leagues as we enter the business end of the season.

The signings we have brought in will strengthen us in the last 7 matches but we also have half an eye on next season and the longer term future of the club.

Brad Brennan: Loan extension

Brad has been sensational for us in his second stint at the club. He brings a real physical presence to pur forward pack that we had lacked somewhat. He also gives confidence to and improves the other players in the team when hes on the field so to be able to extend his loan agreement in this manner is very valuable to us - many thanks to Paul Creary and Barrow Raiders.

We are looking to build closer links with London Broncos going forward and have taken the opportunity to bring in 3 players from their U19's system. All three players come highly recommended but above that, they are all originally from the Midlands. Our philosophy is and will increasingly be to blood and bring on local Midlands talent and so we jumped at the opportunity to work with these lads. Between them they cover a number of positions including outside back, hooker and middle unit forward so they will add depth to our squad.

NEW SIGNING

Paul Emanuelli:

Paul is a player who has caused us massive problems in the past with his kicking game and game-management abilities. He is an experienced head and natural leader. Our side is currently full of the promise and potential of youth but we do need more older and mature players to help our development. Paul ticks those boxes and I am looking forward to working with him now that has returned from Australia where he took part in the University World Cup.
