Bears sign Leeds Beckett Duo
The club is delighted to announce the signing of Daniel Parker (centre) and Tom Hall (Prop) who have both played at Student Rugby League International levels and the top of the Amateur game.
Bears Head coach Tom Tsang commented on the signings.
Dan and Tom are both currently students at Leeds Beckett University (formally Leeds Metropolitan University) and were part of the unbeaten Great Britain and Ireland Universities side that toured South Africa in 2014.
Dan Parker
Dan has been on our radar for a while after impressing in the Student Four Nations competition and GB Universities tour last year. He was highly recommended by several sources and after watching him closely in Leeds Beckett Universities Grand Final win we moved to bring him on trial at the Bears. Originally from Hull, Dan has great pedigree playing for the famous West Hull community club who won the National Conference League Premier Division and Conference Challenge Trophy. Having now signed for the season I'm excited to see him integrate quickly into the squad and prove himself at this level.
Daniel Parker commented on signing for the Bears;
"I'm really grateful for the opportunity given to me by the Bears. After winning all trophies available to me last year with West Hull, I'm looking forward to testing myself at the next level. I look forward to being part of the historic first season for the club and laying a platform for seasons to come".
Tom Hall
Tom is another player who has come highly recommended to us by trusted sources and has brought a very good attitude and personality to training sessions and games. He is a hard running yet skillful front-rower who will be a handful for opposition defences. He is already acclimatising to the faster pace and challenge that League One presents and I am sure that once he gets up to speed he will become a fan favorite at the Butts Park Arena.
Tom Hall commented on signing for the Bears;
"I am delighted to sign with the Bears, they have given me an opportunity to show what I can do over the past few weeks and I am now looking forward to settling in and securing my position for the season ahead."
