Bears ready for battle of the wild

Coventry Bears v Hemel Stags Preview

Kingstone Press League One Round 3
by Head Coach Tom Tsang

We're all really looking forward to this weekend and the match against Hemel. We have a bit of history from our time in the conference leagues together and if previous matches are anything to go by it should be an exciting game.

Hemel will be really up for this game and so it will be important to get off to a good start and move their big pack around - they have a Dual Registration agreement with Hunslet and im sure they will be bringing in a handful of players in key positions so it will be a test to keep those guys quiet.

We picked up a couple of knocks in the Oldham game to Captain Simon Phillips and centre Eddie Medforth so we'll be running late fitness tests on those two who have both been great for us so far.

The rest of the side is healthy and we have a few others coming back from injury so I will have a few tough decisions to make in terms of selection.

We played Hemel in a friendly back in February and only just lost that game - we're certainly an improved side from then and I'm sure Hemel will be too, but I would expect this weekend to be just as close, but hopefully we will get the result this time.
