JUNIOR EARLY SUMMER UPDATE 2024

A WEEK TO REMEMBER

JUNE 5TH 2024

This week was a big week for Coventry Bears Juniors as we had a visit from Leeds Rhinos performance department which made our training evening a poignant one on Wednesday. We also observed a minutes silence remembering Leeds Rhinos great late Rob Burrow as a club.

Leeds performance coaching team John Bastian and Simon Bell travelled from Yorkshire and watched training and then gave parents a presentation on the Leeds Rhinos rugby league pathway. Sunday we then travelled to Nottingham Outlaws for the third Junior festival of the year.

Michael Shires Coventry Bears Coaching Co-Ordinator said: The Bears u11s continued their success with wins against a tough Bassetlaw Bulldogs team and a valiant Nottingham Outlaws and Shrewsbury Lions combined team.

The u13s acquitted themselves well against NEW Ravens, Leamington, Bassetlaw and Nottingham Outlaws winning all their games.

Our under 16s then played out two draws and a win versus Leamington, New Ravens and Batteslaw Bulldogs.

The Bears look forward to the next festival at Sherwood as the Midlands Paladin festival series rolls on.
