Reid Signs On For 2016
The Coventry Bears are today delighted to announce the signing of Matt Reid from the North Wales Crusaders for the 2016 season.
Matt spent a period on loan with the Bears in 2015 and has agreed to return on a permanent basis for the forth coming season.
A versatile second row who can also play in the centre, Reid has spent the last number of seasons with the Crusaders and took part in their League One Cup Final against Swinton once his loan with the Bears had come to an end.
Speaking on signing with the club Reid commented; "I'm really excited to get started with Coventry for next season. I enjoyed my time on loan here and i'm looking forward to linking up with everyone again on a permanent basis. It is a club with an ambitious vision, which is something I wanted to be part of, hopefully I can contribute to this next season and we can be successful."
Head Coach Tom Tsang also commented on the capture of Reid "I'm very excited that Matt has decided to join the club for next year. It really shows that we are doing things right when players of Matt's caliber want join us having seen what we are about and what we are building here in the Midlands. He covers a number of positions and adds further experience to our back row that is now packed with quality with the likes of Liam Thompson, Chris Barratt and the outstanding Matt Cooper."
Reid is the third new signing for the club following the additions of Jay Lobwein and James Redman to the squad.
