Bears CEO Alan Robinson gives us a mid season update and his views on the second part of the season.

"As we enter the second half of the season and the remaining Shield fixtures we still feel we have a point to prove and as a group are unhappy with how we have performed so far this year. The season began with high expectations around the squad and sometimes things just don't work out as you plan.

Despite that we still have some huge positives we can draw from, such as our performance in Toronto and the fact we have scored more try's than ever before this year against opposition at the top half of the table. Our staff and squad is still learning valuable lessons and we must stick together and dig deep to bring the club forward.

We sat down as a management group after Sunday and want nothing more than to be winning games but must not lose sight of the long journey towards sustainability, as with that, success will come naturally.

We have now had a big refocus and are starting to look ahead to next year now.

Off the field I couldn't be prouder about how the club has developed. We are doing more and more in the community and are starting to make real noises, not just locally but across the game as a whole. We are developing as a business and that can only be a good thing. A year, even a week in sport is a long time and the fact we have probably one of the best supported clubs in the south makes a huge difference so I would like to thank all our supporters for getting behind us.

On a final note I'd like to mention that we now have a new podcast "The Bear Neccesities" ran by fans for the fans so please take time to have a listen. It will be an opportunity for everyone to get another level of insight into the Club. You can find out more on twitter at @covbearspodcast

So for now let's kick on and take more positives into 2018, don't forget we are in this together! Please enjoy the rest of the season.
