Coventry Bears will gear up for preseason at a new training venue in Warwickshire

Coventry Bears players and staff will be launching preseason this weekend at a new training venue which will allow the squad to build on last year in a first class environment.

The National Prison Service College based at Newbold Revel between Coventry and Rugby in Warwickshire boasts fantastic facilities perfect for developing the club and squad for the future.

Bears Alan Robinson spoke of the new venue and partnership at Newbold Revel;

We have been working hard in the off season to look at building on last year and felt that pushing the boundaries on improving the environment for players and staff was key. We already have some great partnerships and will continue to use our Coventry Sports Foundation venues such as the Xcel leisure centre where we have a pitch for community activities but felt that the National Prison Service College at Newbold Revel was a great fit for developing our professional environment. It is an inspirational site and building in itself with amazing facilities for us to utilise. The venue serves as the national offender management service college (NOMS for short) It has a full size rugby pitch which is maintained throughout the year, two huge Dojos a gym plus first class conferencing, catering and residential facilities. It will allow us every opportunity to develop our squad and pathway and build on our first year in League one. This new relationship is something I am really excited about.
