Alan Robinson said:
“We are two weeks into pre-season and after a successful trial have a number of players we wish to look at again under game conditions so playing the prison service will prove really useful.
The Crusaders are physical and know the game having a number of players who have extensive experience at various levels including League One so it’s a perfect match to play at this time of year.
I’d like to thank the HMPRL and wish them the very best for their new season ahead, it’s great to play this annual fixture once again”
Sam Roe, Manager of HMPS RL commented:
“HMPRL are really looking forward to our annual fixture with Coventry Bears at Newbold Revell. We would like to thank them again for playing us and giving us the chance to play against quality side and test ourselves. It's has been a really good year for us, we are unbeaten so far this year beating military sides and GB Police. We have had a lot more players become available to us and are starting to build a strong squad of players which can only get better. We hope to keep developing as a club both on and off the field. We are raring to go on the 8th and look forward to the game, we aim to be even more competative this year but for us it isn't about the result but how we perform as we aren't expected to win. If we perform to the best of our ability then we know we will be competative against Coventry and hopefully it will be a exciting game.“
